since returning from Ireland I must admit that I am finding it hard to settle back in to life here. i am a lot little homesick. i loved being home and i realised how much i miss the people, the food, the craic, the banter, being understood and understanding. i miss it all.
but yesterday, this amazing little vimeo dropped in my inbox from the very lovely Jane who along with her South African husband Myles run Shells Seaside Bakery and Cafe on surfers paradise Strandhill, Co. Sligo. it warmed my heart and made me smile and I can't wait to get home again and go visit them in their cafe. a copy of their book - The Surf Cafe Cookbook is currently winging its way to me here and i can't wait to get busy with their gorgeous fresh recipes. lucky you if you live close enough to drop in to Shells for some of that fresh bread and lucky for the rest of us that Jane and Myles have kindly agreed to share some of their wonderful recipes here with us all on the blog so watch this space for some 'little tastes of home'.
we are waiting on a blizzard here toady and are going to be housebound for the weekend. the firewood is stacked, we have stocked up on goodies and i am looking forward to some snowstorm reading ,so right now I am drinking tea and enjoying the calm before the storm......the first flakes are falling as I type,
next time your home i'm bringing you to shells for breakfast, it's worth it.
